Media 8 rebrands to M8, adds personnel in NYC, LA and Mexico

Miami Headquartered Agency Media 8 is rebranding as M8. The rebranding reflects the fact that in today’s world advertising and media are a component of the marketing discipline but donot represent its entirety. “We’re much more than media; we’re multicultural, multiscreen, marketers headquartered in Miami,” John Santiago, CEO of M8, tells Portada. The rebranding happens after Santiago bought out his former busines partner Paul Suskey. A new executive leadership has been appointed and new personnel is being added in NYC, Los Angeles and Mexico City.

Meredith takes over Martha Stewart Living Non-Editorial Business

Through a 10-year licensing agreement, Meredith Corp. will take over Martha Stewart Living OmnimediaInc. flagships Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Weddings brands business operation, including all non-editorial functions of the brand—ad sales, marketing, circulation, distribution and production beginning Nov. 1. The arrangement includes the U.S. and Canadian editions.

Should HBO Latino Go Over the Top?

Yesterday morning HBO Chairman and CEO Richard Pepler said that HBO will launch a stand-alone, over-the-top service that would allow consumers to watch HBO content without having a cable subscription. Whether HBO Latino will be part of this initiative is still to be determined. But Portada’s Susan Kuchinskas played what-if and asked several experts on their thoughts on an OTT HBO Latino.
