1c094c7 Meredith Corporation has promoted Jessica Torres to Deputy Editor of Siempre Mujer, the fashion and lifestyle magazine for Latinas, effective immediately. In this role, Torres will work with Siempre Mujer’s Editor-in-Chief María Cristina Marrero to direct the brand’s content and design on all platforms, and increase the brand’s visibility and relevance among today’s young Latinas. She will report to directly to Marrero. Most recently, she served as Siempre Mujer’s Beauty and Lifestyle Editor. Prior to Siempre Mujer, Torres also held positions at Parents and Ser Padres magazines.Torres holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies from Hunter College. She will continue to be based in Siempre Mujer’s offices in New York.

descargaUnivision Communications Inc. has announced two key appointments to its executive team. Kevin Cuddihy has been named president of Local Media and Jessica Rodriguez was appointed chief marketing officer, effective immediately. They will be both based in New York and report to Randy Falco, president and chief executive officer of UCI.

kevinKevin Cuddihy will oversee a combined 130 television and radio stations with responsibility for local sales, content, digital, operations and community relations. Former president of the Univision Television Group (UTG), Cuddihy previously served as EVP of TV Advertising Sales for Univision Local Media. Prior to joining Univision in 2009, he spent eight years at Comcast Spotlight Sales rising from VP/GM Detroit Marketlink to SVP Advertising Sales.

rodriguezJessica Rodriguez will oversee all UCI marketing functions, including the Univision Agency.She most recently held the position of EVP of Program Scheduling and Promotions. Previously, Rodriguez served as SVP of Univision Cable Networks, and prior to that, VP, Special Assistant to the President of Univision Networks. She began her career at Univision.   She received an MBA from Stanford University School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.

NBCUniversal Executives - Season 2014Telemundo has appointed Mirta Ojito to the position of Director, News Standards to be effective August 25. Based in Miami , she will report to David McCormick, SVP, Standards, NBCUniversal News Group, supporting Alina Falcon, EVP, News and Alternative Programming, Telemundo. Her new responsibilities will include: reviewing scripts and reports for accuracy and fairness, supporting news management on review processes and ethics training, and providing guidance to Telemundo journalists about news standards, among others. A journalism veteran, Ojito joins Telemundo from Columbia University, where she was an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Journalism since 2006. Prior to that, Ojito was a staff writer at The New York Times for more than five years . She holds a Master of Science from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Florida Atlantic University.

Eddie-Melendez-e1407283106857-223x300Eddie Melendez has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Western Region. He will be responsible for overseeing the TV, radio and digital sales operations for all of Entravision’s eight California markets including: San Diego, El Centro, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Monterey-Salinas, Sacramento, Stockton and Santa Barbara. Melendez served as EVP of Integrated Marketing Solutions, National, since February 2013, and VP, National Sales of Television and Radio Divisions from January 2007 to February 2013.

james lykeJames Lyke has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Integrated Marketing Solutions, National, overseeing all national revenue for television, radio spot and national digital sales. His responsibilities include overseeing national sales for 58 TV and 49 radio stations.  He will also manage the company’s New Business Development team. Previously VP, Network and Spot Sales in Chicago, Lyke is a 19-year veteran in the Latino media industry.

They both report to Carrera and work together.

jvJerry Vazquez will join Telemundo Houston as VP President of News for Noticiero Telemundo, effective immediately.He takes over for Rey Chávez, who left the station in July, after more than 3 years as News Director there. In this role, he will be responsible for the overall performance of the news department and any other local productions across multiple media platforms. For the past 13 years, Vazquez served as Executive Producer for ABC KTRK-13 Houston. Prior to this, Vazquez was the News Director for KMID-TV in Midland, Texas. Vazquez also worked at NBC WOIA (formerly KMOL).
