People change positions, get promoted or move to other companies. Portada is here to tell you about it.

Peter Magnusson left Google to join Snapchat as Vice President of Engineering. He will be in charge of building technology infrastructure in-house .The announcement, did not sit well with Magnusson’s former colleagues at Google App Engine due to so comments the engineer made in an article. Afterwards in an email, Snapchat calls the entire situation a “misunderstanding.”To Magnusoon, Google is a great partner, and the success of Snapchat would not have been possible without Google Cloud. That is why he expects to work closely together.

prohaskaMatt Prohaska(photo), who joined the New York Times as advertising director last April, had been hired to help its sales people understand programmatic ad technologies. But, Instead of segregating programmatic from direct sales, The Times integrated the two platforms. Mr. Prohaska went on sales calls, but was not himself charged with selling ads. The change comes as the Times looks to grow digital ad revenue, after several quarters of losses that it blamed partly on programmatic buying trends. The New York Times’ embrace of automated ad sales is certainly a reality. The company was looking to experiment with selling ads on its sites through private ad exchanges and automating direct deals. However, The New York Times has also embraced new so-called native ads that appear to be the polar opposite of ads sold programmatically.”It has been a privilege representing The New York Times in leading its programmatic initiatives with all the success we have had and a pleasure working with you in helping us get to where we are,” Mr. Prohaska said.
