Mobile advertising revenue represented approximately 49% of advertising revenue for the third quarter of 2013. In the second quarter, mobile ads amounted to 41 percent of the total. Facebook had 874 million monthly mobile users at the end of the quarter, up 45 percent year-over-year. Facebook said it counts roughly 507 million daily active mobile users as well.

The company said it earned net income of $425m, or 17 cents a share, in the three months to the end of September, compared with a net loss of $59m, or two cents a share the same time last year.

Latin America

According to specialists, mobile ad spend  in Latin America is going to grow (for MI) at around 70%-80% consistently, year over year. Also experts said "We believe that next's year's World Cup will be a tipping point for this process, with major brands expected to pour major ad dollar into the region."

"Banner and search advertising are still in great demand, but there a growing shift towards a more sophisticated type of ads (rich media) which include video, audio, interstitials and so on; these are generally more common with major brand advertisers, as they require heavy production resources. Native ads are going to be in great demand as well.", experts assured.
