Metro International, widely known as “Metro”, is the world’s largest international newspaper and a few days ago it announced its launch in Nicaragua.

Metro is currently published in over 100 major cities in 24 countries across Europe, North and South America and Asia. Metro is, in fact, the largest newspaper in Latin America, with nearly 3.5 million daily metropolitan readers across Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Colombia and Puerto Rico. With the addition of Nicaragua, Metro will be consolidating its presence in Latin America, reaching nine countries in the region.

It’s been ten years already since a newspaper was launched in Nicaragua. 25,000 copies of the Metro Nicaragua free print edition will be hand-delivered by distributors from Monday to Friday at 26 strategic locations in Managua, so as to reach the 18-40 years of age target audience. Metro Nicaragua will focus on the same usual topics portrayed in the rest of the Metro newspaper network –current trends, technology, sports, celebrities and local news.

Metro Nicaragua will be led by Hernán Cájas and edited by Alberto Alemán, international analyst with experience in Asia and Europe.
