Marshall Genger, until very recently CFO at impreMedia, was named VP of Finance for the Newspaper National Network LP, a private partnership owned by 25 of the largest U.S. newspaper companies and administered by the Newspaper Association of America. Genger reports directly to Ray Chelstowski, who became CEO of the venture in July. Genger was CFO of impreMedia starting 2009, before that he worked as corporate controller there. Genger has also held senior executive positions at General Foods Corp., Gaines Foods, New York’s Daily News, Random House Value Publishing, Henry Holt & Co.

Ned Brody
was named senior VP and head of ad sales for North and South America at Yahoo. Brody was most recently CEO of AOL Networks, leaving in April. Yahoo! also released a new logo last week.

Pulpo Media announced that Maria Lopez Knowles has joined the company as its Chief Marketing Officer.

 
Toni Racioppo was named senior VP, media services at the Halo Group, the New York-based branding and marketing communications agency. She previously held posts as senior VP, group director at ZenithMedia, account director at MEC and client communications director at OMD. She also held stints at BBDO and at William Esty.

Interpret LLC announced the hiring of Diego Rodriguez and the launch of New Media Measure Hispanic(TM), the Hispanic version of their New Media Measure(R) media consumption tracking service. Diego Rodriguez has over ten years of experience researching the Hispanic Market in the U.S. and abroad, working with media and entertainment companies, as well as sample providers. Prior to joining Interpret, Diego created two online panels, one for Hispanics in the U.S. and another for consumers in Mexico. Before that, Diego was VP, Operations at Federated Sample. Diego also served as Head of the Multicultural Group at OTX (Ipsos), which he started in 2004.  Interpret LLC is a entertainment, media and technology measurement and market research firm that applies proprietary, cutting-edge methodologies and extensive category knowledge to help companies plan, test, and measure their business strategies.

Antonio VillaraigosaFormer Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been named Senior Advisor to Herbalife’s Chairman and CEO, Michael O. Johnson and the company’s board of directors.  Last Thursday, Herbalife released a statement that “Villaraigosa will provide counsel on strategic business development and global community outreach.”  The Los Angeles-based global nutrition company praised Villaraigosa as someone who knows the company well.


Alan Cohen is stepping down as U.S. CEO of Omnicom media agency OMD after five years and will start a new agency named Giant Spoon, which Omnicom will have a minority stake in. Monica Karo, CEO of Omnicommedia agency PHD succeeds Cohen at OMD. Robert Habeck, currently executive director of global accounts for Omnicom Media Group succeeds Karo at PHD. Departing with Cohen to start Giant Spoon are OMD chief innovation officer Jonathan Haber, OMD’s Ignition Factory East’s director Trevor Guthrie, and Ignition Factory West’s director Marc Simons.

Jonathan Carson has joined internet video distributor Vevo in the newly created of chief revenue officer, where he will oversee the company’s global sales team. Carson is co-founder of BuzzMetrics and was most recently CEO of Nielsen’s digital unit.

HolaDoctor is proud to announce the appointment of Ivan Salazar to the position of Senior Vice President of Technology.
