Takeda has continued its expansion in Latin America, establishing a new sales and marketing subsidiary in Peru.  Headquartered in Lima, Takeda Peru adds to the company’s existing operations in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador. Its latest subsidiary in the region will be led by Julio Cesar Acevedo Orrego, who was formerly marketing – promotion and sales manager for Takeda Colombia.

Marketing research firm SKIM has opened two new offices in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and San José, Costa Rica. The new locations signal SKIM’s expansion into the Latin American market. Juan A. Tello, director Americas for SKIM, will lead the Costa Rica office. Juliana Oliviera, market research director, Brazil, will lead the Rio de Janeiro office.

Layla Caballero is the new Advertising Director at Diario las Americas in Miami. She previously worked as Operations Manager Print and Digital at Publicitas  also in Miami. Earlier this year Diario las Americas was sold by the Aguirre family to an investor group led by Venezuelan business man Nelson Mezerhane. Aquiles Presilla is the new COO at Diario las Americas and,  as previously reported by Portada,  Manuel Aguilera is the newspaper’s Editorial Director.

Gabriel Sama has been appointed as Managing Editor of  CNET en Español.  Earlier in his career, Sama worked as  founding editor of the Rumbo chain of newspapers in Texas, overseeing the creation and day-to-day operations at four major  dailies in the state. As reported by Portada in March, CBS Interactive (CBSi) plans to introduce a version of CNET for Spanish-speaking consumers in the fall. CNET en español enters an increasingly crowded field of Spanish-language gadget and technology sites. Recent launches for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets include Gawker Media’s Gizmodo en español and Spain’s  Weblogssl Xataka. Content on tech and gadgets belong to the most profitable digital media categories.

Assist America, Inc. has appointed Roberto Peralta Rassner as Sales Director – Latin America, effective immediately. Mr. Peralta brings a proven track record of more than 15 years of experience working in the sales and marketing industry.
