BBC WorldwideBBC Worldwide announced a new leadership team for its Business and Operational Units in the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin America based in Miami. All new executives will be reporting to Fred Medina, Executive VP and General Manager of BBC Worldwide for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Medina reports to Paul Dempsey, president of Global Markets at BBC Worldwide. Karen Harrison is the new VP of Finance, she will be in charge of developing and managing all aspects of the financial performance  of BBC in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. Harrison joins BBC Worldwide after having worked at Bilzoo Media & Broadband as CFO. Alejandra Olea, is the new VP of Integrated Sales. Olea will be leading the team responsible for channel distribution, program and format sales and will also be responsible for supervising the development of  additional revenue streams. Olea most recently worked at DIRECTV Latin America. Janel Downing is the new Director of Formats and Coproductions and will be reporting to Olea.  David Hanono is the new Director for Digital Development. In this newly created position Hanono will be leading the development of the digital business in the region. Prior to BBC Worldwide Hanono was Director of Sales Development for Mobile at Univision Communications. Rafael Álamo, is the new Human Resources Manager. Alamo will be in charge of personnel management and organizational culture.The following executives were already part of the BBC team for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market and will continue to do so. Gareth Williams, VP Brand Services. Sergio Leos, VP Marketing and Advertising Sales, Alessandro Stroscio, VP Consumer Products, Alexander Torres, VP Commercial and Legal Affairs, Frank Novo, Director of Operations and Viviana Rubinstein, Director of Communications and Public Relations.

Robert HoSang has been named director, business development at research firm Latinum Network. He has been tasked with expanding new business opportunities and potential revenue streams among Latinum's current member roster. Most recently, HoSang was account director at Havas Media, handling partnership development and strategic planning and insights for clients including McDonald's, Moët Hennessy and Philips Norelco.

Univision Communications announced that Sarah Madigan has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of Content Distribution. Madigan joined the company in 2011, and most recently served as senior vice president of Business Affairs. She will continue to be based in Univision’s New York headquarters and will report to Tonia O’Connor, president of Content Distribution and Corporate Business Development. In her new position, Madigan will oversee content sales and strategy for digital and linear distribution.

Technology and Market Research firm Geoscape is launching a new unit that will provide a wide range of primary multicultural research services, leveraging the company’s existing data and technology. The division will be led by Hispanic and multicultural specialist Raul Lopez, who joins from Phoenix Marketing International where he led the Multicultural unit. He will be supported by Senior Client Advisor Jeronima Pilar, who also joins from Phoenix.

Thomas Brown has a new position as Sales Consultant at Coed Media Group, a college lifestyle blogging,  publishing, and marketing solutions company. Brown previously worked as Director Sales Northeast Region at Orange Advertising Network. He started his new job at the end of June. Prior to Orange, Brown worked at advertising agency Ad Pepper.

Alvaro PalaciosAlvaro Palacios  joined DLA in May as Chief Revenue Office (CRO) and is responsible for leading and directing the Sales and Marketing departments in the company. DLA development of entertainment products for VOD platforms in Latin America and the Caribbean.Alvaro leads the planning and development of strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing the company’s revenue. He also plays an important part in defining a corporate culture and direction, as well as implementing international strategies to stimulate affiliate and ad sales and other potential sources of revenue. Before joining DLA, Alvaro was vice president and managing director of PRISA in Miami, where he led the development of strategic alliances and digital products, as well as marketing and sales strategies for the US and Latin American digital markets. Previously, he was regional business development director at Terra Networks USA-Latin America,

Anhelo Reyes (foto) is joining Fusion, the new network for Hispanics from ABC and Univision, as the network’s first Vice President of Marketing.   Anhelo will lead all branding, marketing and promotion. She is based at our headquarters in Miami. Most recently, Anhelo was Nickelodeon’s vice president for strategic property planning and marketing, where she was responsible for the launch and long-term strategic marketing plans for three of the company’s most important properties – SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Winx Club. In addition, Fusion announced that Mark Lima is its new Vice President of News. A 25-year news veteran, Mark was most recently part of the team at “Nightline” that made the show the #1 program in late night and won a prestigious Peabody Award for coverage of Superstorm Sandy. At “Nightline” Mark was responsible for developing stories and leading digital and social media integration. His experience has been invaluable to Miguel Ferrer and the Digital team as Fusion charts a course for close collaboration between digital, social and television news coverage. Mark spent four years in Los Angeles as deputy bureau chief for ABC News.  He managed day-to-day coverage of news assignments for the western bureaus and won a pair of Emmys in 2008 for reports on the fires sweeping through Malibu.
