El Latino Newspaper invites Latinas to be pampered, informed and empowered during its annual event on June 8th, 2013, held at its new location, the beautiful waterfront Hilton Bayfront Hotel, next to the Convention Center in downtown San Diego.

More than just a conference, Celebrando 2013 is a unique day for Latinas to focus on issues of importance in the language they prefer, Spanish, with motivational keynote speakers, educational workshops, recognitions luncheon with a fashion show sponsored by Macy’s and Calzado Andrea, an interactive expo with music, mini-makeovers, a stylist closet and more. When arriving, each attendee receives a gift bag with surprises from sponsors, enter amazing raffles, and take part in an unforgettable experience focused on four areas: beauty, health, business and technology.

DMZphoto-2579Celebrando 2013 offers attendees over a dozen onsite health-screenings such as; mammograms, BMI, CPR demonstrations, HIV testing, vision, dental, spinal exams, blood pressure, glucose, and more.

María Marín, one of the 25 “Most Powerful Women” by People En Español, returns to Celebrando as keynote speaker of the Latina Conference, introducing her new book with another motivating and entertaining presentation. Maria Marin is an icon of motivation and an example for Latinas in the areas of personal development and success.

Argelia Atilano, best known for her syndicated radio show “El Show de Omar and Algeria”, will deliver an empowering message to Latinas as she addresses this year’s theme: Seeds of Today, Achievements of Tomorrow. Latinas will be able to enjoy workshops like ‘Understanding and Managing Credit Responsibly’ by Wells Fargo and get a live cooking demo by Ana Quincoces, best known for her participation in the reality show, ‘Real Housewives of Miami’.

On the terrace, over looking the San Diego Bay, local vendors will provide fashion consultations as well as sell products such as, clothes, cosmetics, health products and merchandise from the famous Tijuana soccer team, Xolos. Three extraordinary women and one teen where chosen to be recognized during the event luncheon from nominations submitted by community. Winners were secretly brought to a local Sprint Store and given the news.

The most noted change for 2013 will be the additional Celebrando Teens Conference, a parallel event taking place on the same day, which offers young Latinas ages 13-19, their own workshops, expo time and keynote messages with issues relevant to them.

Inocente Izúcar, star of the documentary “Inocente” based on her own life story, which aired on MTV and recently won an Oscar for “Best Documentary of the Year”. Inocente will share her inspiring story, who despite the obstacles in her life at such young age has been able to find an escape through her beautiful art. Actress of the film “Mamitas” and television series “Cold Case” and “Criminal Minds”, Veronica Diaz-Carranza, will encourage teens to follow their dreams along with José Yenque of “Traffic” and his mother Teresa Yenque, an actress know for her participation in “The Sopranos” and “Law in Order”.
