Sindy Chapa is the new  Director, Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication at Florida State University Portada has learned. Chapa is substitutes Felipe Korzenny who is retiring.

Joe Uva has been appointed as NBCU’s Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises and  Content. The appointment was described “as an exciting evolution of NBCUniversal’s strategy to serve the  growing Hispanic population in our country,” by Telemundo President Emilio Romano.

Leopoldo Garcia is the new Director of Business Development & Account Services for Latcom, based in Miami. Leopoldo has over sixteen years of experience in ad sales with a successful career developing new businesses within the Latin American, Pan-Regional, and US Hispanic markets; first in Venezuela at Radio Caracas Television for ten years and then, in Miami, working for some large and medium companies such as Comcast, Miami Today News, and US Media Consulting.

Ezequiel Cufre has been hired by Latcom as lead business development . In his new role he will lead business development, revenue generation, service present and new clients and manage OOH advertising campaigns servicing customers in US and the Caribbean region. His experience also includes management roles with Grupo Editorial Expansion, Time Inc, MarketLogic and AIG. This background has helped Ezequiel to make an easy transition into his current position with Latcom.

Natalia EscualNatalia Escual has been promoted to the newly created position of Global Sales Director at StartMeApp, a mobile ad network in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market . She assumes responsibility for oversight and management of StartMeApp’s ongoing expansion of sales and business development initiatives worldwide. Ms. Escual joined StartMeApp in November 2011 as an Account Manager and was promoted in March 2012 to the position of Country Manager for Colombia and the Caribbean, overseeing StartMeApp’s launch of operations in Colombia and neighboring countries of the Caribbean basin last year.

Sonia SantafeSonia Santafe has been hired by StartMeApp to the position of Country Manager for Colombia & the Caribbean, bringing extensive experience in mobile marketing, mobile entertainment, m-commerce and sales throughout Latin America to her new position. She takes charge of all operations, business development and client relations with StartMeApp’s agency and corporate advertising clients in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and the Spanish-speaking countries of Central America and the Caribbean Basin region.

John Fennessy has been hired by StartMeApp to new position of Manager of European Business Development. Based in London, he will be responsible as for oversight of all operations, business development and client relations with StartMeApp’s growing list of agency and corporate advertising clients in continental Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Prior to joining StartMeApp, Mr. Fennessy served as a Senior Consultant with the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing firm Accenture, where he worked in a variety of positions over a five-year period, both as a management consultant and in a business analyst role on projects spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa for global technology, consumer and financial services brands that included Microsoft, UBS, Dell and others.

Amy GomezNew York based UniWorld Group has hired multicultural account service leader, Amy Gómez, as Senior Group Account Director for Marriott International, Inc. As Senior Group Account Director, Ms. Gómez will be responsible for partnering with Marriott International to develop strategic business plans for their multicultural marketing needs.  Additionally, she will manage and help grow Marriott’s business in traditional, digital, social, and mobile spaces.

 

Cox Communications has hired Israel Barajas as the new Phoenix Hispanic marketing coordinator and he will support Hispanic marketing initiatives across the country for Cox products and services. Barajas responsibilities include focusing on advertising and event campaigns to promote the company’s products and services including El Mix and Super Mix Hispanic video packages, Cox high-speed Internet, and digital telephone as well as calling plans to Mexico and Latin America.

Univision Communications announced the promotion of Trisha Pray to executive vice president of Network Sales, effective immediately. She will continue to be based in New York and will report to Keith Turner, president of Sales and Marketing for Univision Communications Inc.  Pray replaces Laura Molen, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Univision is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco A. Liceaga as the new vice president of Marketing and Promotions for Univision Deportes. Based in Miami, Mr. Liceaga will oversee all strategic marketing and brand building endeavors for Univision’s sports properties across all media platforms. He will report to Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes.  Liceaga joins Univision Deportes from Soccer United Marketing, the marketing arm of Major League Soccer, where he served as senior director of SUM International.
