Content

Meredith Video Studios just introduced Better en Español, a new Spanish-language equivalent of the syndicated lifestyle show, The Better Show. The move underlines the increasing weight of Online video (advertising) for media companies.

Better en Español was  introduced as a digital series with eight webisodes on betterenespañol.com in November. The show focuses on parenting, food, fashion, beauty and entertainment and works with sponsors that are integrated in to each episode. The first eight shows are focusing on a baby’s first year and are presented by Dreft, a P&G brand.

Better en Español was created by Seth Feldman, Vice President of Meredith Video Studios, who also co-created The Better Show when it launched in English six years ago.

Better en Español is filmed in Meredith’s state-of-the-art broadcast studio in Midtown Manhattan. Better en Español was created by Seth Feldman, Vice President of Meredith Video Studios, who also co-created The Better Show when it launched in English six years ago. “We are extremely eager to take Meredith Video Studios to the next level with Better en Español,” said Kieran Clarke, Executive Vice President of Meredith Video Studios. “By leveraging Meredith-branded content, using our new High Definition Studios, syndicated networks and abilities to work with premier sponsors, we will reach the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population, Hispanic women.”

Insights from Meredith Hispanic Ventures

The content of the show is based on insights from Meredith Hispanic Ventures, publishers of Siempre Mujer, Ser Padres and Espera magazines. Better en Español is hosted by Carolina Buia, a native of Venezuela, who worked as a former staff reporter for Time magazine and covered Latin American politics and lifestyles. Buia has also been a national on-air reporter for Telemundo and Celebrity Justice. Starting in November, each webisode will also feature reports from Miami-based correspondent, Diane Fernandez.
