Two The  Miami Herald urban issues reporter Frances “Frenchie” Robles and photographer Tim Chapman are moving on. Chapman is retiring after 40 years at the Herald. His last day is Dec. 31st. Robles, a new York City native who speaks fluent Spanish, has been hired by the New York Times. Her last day is Dec. 14. She joined the Herald in 1993.

 

AOL continued its moving and shaking today with the news that former AOL svp of international Jimmy Maymann will move into a new role as CEO of the Huffington Post Media Group.

Griselda Fernandez

Mediasmith, an independent digital media agency, announced  the promotion of Griselda Fernandez to the role of Vice President, Media Director to expand her leadership of the media department, client relations and company culture. Fernandez joined Mediasmith one and a half years ago as a Media Director. During her tenure, she has excelled in managing multiple media teams, adding new and more powerful programs to client efforts, and leading collaborations with creative agencies. Her work was instrumental in securing Mediasmith’s eMusic business, when she presented new and valuable solutions to eMusic during the late 2011 review.

Carolina Rivera is the new A&O Pan Regional Sales Lead at Microsoft Advertising in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Rivera previously worked as U.S. and International Sales Manager at Televisa Publishing and Digital. Also at Microsoft Advertising Lovina Mc Murchy has recently been promoted to GM Global Specialist Sales, Advertising and Online Division, her prior position has been taken by Agustin Nolte who now leads Microsoft Advertising’s Latin American Division.

Maria Badillo has joined MTV’s US Spanish-language network Tr3s as VP, programming and production. She joins from Discovery where she was director of programming and acquisitions for Discovery Networks Latin America. At Tr3s Badillo will oversee programming strategy and original production. “As we continue our ambitious evolution of Tr3s, Maria will ensure that our rich and diversified development slate, as well as our new and established production teams, will all serve the creative vision for the network and our audience. As we launch our new prime-time slot, this is the perfect moment for Maria to take the reins,” said Fernando Gaston, brand manager for Tr3s.
