CORRECTION: In last week’s Changing Places we incorrectly stated that Veronica Arreola is the new SVP Media Relations at HLG Solutions. The information is incorrect. Veronica Arreola is a National Account Executive at ImpreMedia based in New York City.

ABC News (Disney) and Univision News announced that digital media executive Miguel Ferrer will be the first Executive Producer, Digital for both companies’ upcoming cable news joint venture. Ferrer will oversee all digital properties and work closely with the ad sales, distribution and editorial teams. Mr. Ferrer was most recently the managing editor of the Huffington Post’s Black Voices, Latino Voices (English-language) and Voces (Spanish-language) sites.

PM Publicidad has added Myrna DeJesús to lead account planning and strategy development for clients. Myrna DeJesús who joined the agency in September, has for fifteen years been asking "who", "what", "when", "where" and "why". Myrna has inspired creative teams to think outside of the box and create work that is not only relevant to the consumer but true to the brand.  Brands including Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, General Foods, AT&T, and Chrysler have benefited from her Hispanic market insights and expertise in market research, account planning and strategy development.

Azteca America largest affiliate group, Una Vez Mas LP, has appointed David Kosofsky Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Kosofsky was formerly the CFO of American Community Newspapers and has been employed in senior positions with Belo Corporation as well as other public and private companies. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of North Texas and is a CPA, as well as holding certifications as a Management Accountant and Internal Auditor.

Una Vez Mas also appointed Robert Sarabia as Vice President and General Manager of KYAZ-TV 51, Houston, adding to his current role as VP/GM of KVDF, 31 in San Antonio.  “Robert was the perfect choice to head up our Houston station.  He has been heading up KVDF, San Antonio for almost 2 years and has demonstrated that he has every ability to assume the helm of one of our flagships stations” said Terry Crosby, Chairman and CEO of Una Vez Mas.  “Houston is the 4th largest Hispanic television market in the United States and one of UVM’s most important. I look forward to the opportunity to provide our viewers with a television experience that resonates with them. We’re already working on some exciting locally-based programming that will launch in the very near future” stated Sarabia.

Noe de la Garza has been named Director of Sales for Una Vez Mas outlets KVDF in San Antonio, Texas and KADF, Austin, Texas.  De la Garza is also assuming the title of Client Development Manager for Mexico. “Noe is a seasoned media sales professional who will add depth to our bench and at the same time help UVM to expand its horizons.  Mexico is an important source of advertising for Spanish-language television stations in the United States and the selection of Noe shows our commitment to bring ourselves closer to that market.” stated Randy E. Nonberg, President and Chief Operating Officer of UVM.  “The UVM footprint reaches viewers that are important to both domestic and cross-border advertisers and I can help make our platform more readily accessible to them” said de la Garza.
