Meredith Corp. has appointed Carolyn Bekkedahl senior VP-digital sales, effective mid-September. Ms. Bekkedahl will be responsible for overseeing all of Meredith’s digital-sales operations across AllRecipes.com and the Meredith Women’s Network. She most recently was the chief revenue officer for Gilt City, the local-focused arm of online luxury flash-sale site Gilt Groupe. Before that, Ms. Bekkedahl was president of content-syndication company Mochila, Inc. She originally joined Mochila as chief digital officer and was responsible for securing more than 350 media brands as partners. Her media background also includes serving as president-corporate sales, active lifestyle and entertainment groups at American Media; senior VP-publisher, Shape magazine; and senior-level sales positions with publications including Woman’s Day, Premiere and Family Life.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment and promotion of Veronika Moroian to the position of VP and director of Sales for Univision’s WGBO and its sister station Telefutura WXFT in Chicago.  The announcement was made by Mark Dante, executive vice president, Univision Television Station Group Ad Sales.

Brook Holmberg has been named vice president, publisher at Yankee Magazine. Previously he  had been VP of marketing at Yankee Publishing.

Yahoo has appointed former Amazon vice president Kathy Savitt as global chief marketing officer, replacing Mollie Spilman, who had been in the role for just three months. Spilman, previously head of marketing for the Americas at Yahoo, was appointed chief marketing officer by the company’s former interim chief executive Ross Levinsohn in May, as part of an internal reshuffle at the business. Yahoo has not announced what new role Spilman will take up, but a spokesman confirmed she will remain at the company.

The Los Angeles Times Media Group recently named Michael J. Tannourji their new executive vice president of advertising.Tannourji arrives from Ernest & Young where he served as the former director of business development. He replaces John T. O’Loughlin, who left the company earlier to go to The  Houston Chronicle. Tannourij will be responsible for generating revenue at the media organization, which publishes the Los Angeles Times and the Hoy Spanish-language newspaper and operates latimes.com and other websites.
