Changing Places: Mary G. Berner, Keith Summa, Jeff Zimmerman, Chris Morris

Mary G. Berner has been named president and CEO, of the Association of Magazine Media (MPA). The announcement was made by Michael A. Clinton, chairman of the MPA Board of Directors, and president, marketing and publishing director, Hearst Magazines, USA. Berner will begin her new role on 17 September 2012. Berner will replace current MPA president and CEO, Nina Link. Link will serve in an advisory capacity until the end of the year, beginning on 17 September. Most recently, Berner was president and CEO of the Reader’s Digest Association.

Keith Summa, who has headed up CBS News’ investigative unit since 2007 is joining Univision as vice president of news partnerships. In his new role, which begins today, Summa will work with journalists at Univision, as well as the soon-to-be-launched joint venture between Univision and ABC News, “to support and expand the culture of investigative and enterprise reporting,” according to Univision. He will also serve as Univision’s liaison to ABC News for the channel.

Univision Communications  also  announced the appointment of Jeff Zimmerman to vice president, general manager and director of sales of Univision San Antonio and Austin. He is based out of San Antonio and will report to both Luis Patiño, senior vice president, Univision Television Group, and Mark Dante, executive vice president, Television Station Group Ad Sales. In addition, Univision Communications Inc., promoted  Veronika Moroian to the position of vice president and director of Sales for Univision’s WGBO and its sister station Telefutura WXFT in Chicago.  The announcement was made by Mark Dante, executive vice president, Univision Television Station Group Ad Sales.

Univision Radio  announced the appointment of Chris Morris as vice president and general manager of the Phoenix cluster of Univision Radio stations. Morris will be based in Phoenix and will report to Peter Moore, senior vice president and western regional manager, Univision Radio.
