Aurora Sanabria joins JWT Mexico as Vice President of Planning. With an extensive experience in advertising and marketing, Sanabria will focus on strategic planning. Sanabria has received several awards, including the Award for Excellence in Service Movistar 2002; award for best account team agencies MB Hasbro in 1996 and highly prominent position in the Referral Ratings (JWT´s study among equipment and customer service to all customers worldwide).

Fernando Famania becomes the new Vice President of Public Relations and events of the “Asociacion Mexicana de Agencia de Promociones” (AMAPRO). He now joins the team headed by Gerardo Trueba, current president of the association. Famanía was unanimously elected by the board because of his extensive experience with event production, his ability to communicate with customers and maintaining an excellent relationship with them.

Mariela Arce is now Microsoft's Central Marketing Lead for Argentina and Uruguay, she is responsible for the execution of branding and strategic coordination and implementation of marketing plans for the various market segments of the company. Arce worked for Nokia in the past six years as Director of Marketing for South America and recently as Regional Director in the area of ??Branding for this company. In this role, she helped to position Nokia as the leading brand in the local market.

Giovanni + Draftfcb announced the promotion of Pedro Cruz to the position of COO (Chief Operating Officer). This function was performed by Aurelio Lopes, who continues as chairman of the agency Draftfcb and Regional President for Latin America. Cruz will continue to report to Lopes and will develop functions in planning area, which will be subsequently restructured, according to the agency. Before coming to Giovanni, Cruz has worked in agencies like Young & Rubicam Africa and AmBev.

Mary G. Berner has been named president and CEO, MPA, the Association of Magazine Media, it was announced by Michael A. Clinton, chairman of the MPA Board of Directors, and president, marketing and publishing director, Hearst Magazines, USA. Berner will begin her new role on 17 September 2012. Berner will replace current MPA president and CEO, Nina Link. Link will serve in an advisory capacity until the end of the year, beginning on 17 September. Most recently, Berner was president and CEO of the Reader’s Digest Association.

Carolina Ibarguen Giraldo is the new EVP Operations at Initiative Colombia. Giraldo comes to Initiative from Groupon Colombia where she worked as Commercial Sales Manager.
