Luca Lindner promoted to President Americas McCann Worldgroup

McCann Worldgroup has announced that Luca Lindner will assume the expanded role of President, McCann Worldgroup, Americas, adding North America to his continuing responsibilities for Latin America. McCann Worldgroup’s creation of this new regional leadership role recognizes the increasingly multinational nature of integrated and digital marketing communications in the United States as well as the opportunity for greater talent mobility across the regions.

Nick Brien, President & CEO McCann Worldgroup, said, “Luca’s proven ability to navigate the complexities of our large multinational clients and to drive vital collaboration between our McCann Worldgroup companies fits precisely the remit for his expanded McCann Worldgroup role.”

Luca Lindner, currently based in Brazil, has been responsible for McCann Worldgroup’s operations in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the Latin America region. In this multi-regional role, he drove tremendous innovation and remarkable growth on behalf of the agency's roster of blue-chip clients for the last five years. Under his successful leadership, the creative and professional reputation of McCann Erickson throughout Latin America has flourished, as have the business results. McCann Latin America, one of the top agency networks in the region, further added to its creative strength two years ago with the union of McCann Erickson Brazil and W/Brazil (founded by Washington Olivetto) to form WMcCann.

Lindner will continue to partner with Gustavo Martinez, President of McCann Worldgroup Europe, in leading McCann’s Global Brand Community to ensure the highest standards of performance for global clients. His regional MWG responsibilities for Middle East and Africa will now transition to Martinez, with Stefan Himpe, MWG Europe’s CFO, playing a key continuity role in these two important regions. A year ago Lindner reinforced the Latin America/Caribbean regional management reporting to him by naming McCann Chile leader Pablo Walker as his Regional Managing Director.

Luca Lindner was named Regional Director for McCann Latin America/Caribbean in 2005 and is credited with helping to achieve McCann’s enormous growth in the region. Lindner previously served as Vice Chairman of Leo Burnett EMEA and President of Burnett's Fiat Coordination Centre. He spent four years as CEO of the Conquest & Red Cell Network in Europe. Lindner began his agency career at TBWA in Paris, served as Managing Director of TBWA Rome and Client Service Director of TBWA Italy.
