Mamiverse.com, a website dedicated to Latina moms and families has named Lorraine C. Ladish, Editor-in-Chief.  In her new role, Lorraine will shape the editorial voice of the popular site as well and serve as its face to the media.  “Lorraine brings essential experience and editorial savvy to Mamiverse.com,” said Founder and CEO Rene Alegria. “I am 100% confident she will lead us to new heights.” Ladish has contributed to People en Español, Redbook and Mamiverse.com in the past, and was most recently the managing editor of VOXXI Mujer, an online news site for English-speaking Hispanics. She is based in Sarasota, FL. Recently, First Lady Michelle Obama selected Mamiverse.com as the platform to discuss issues important to Hispanic mothers, via a livestream chat.

Spanish media group Prisa has appointed Juan Luis Cebrian as its chairman. Cebrian replaces Ignacio Polanco, who will take over the position of honorary chairman. Prisa has also appointed Fernando Abril-Martorell as its CEO, while Manuel Polanco Moreno has been named deputy chairman.

Michelle Azan, is joining content marketing firm Skyword on August 1 in a business development capacity. Until recently Azan worked as VP, Sales of FINS.com a career website that recently was sold by Dow Jones to Dice Holdings. Earlier in her career Azan worked at Terra Networks.

Shayne Walters recently left door hanger marketing company PowerDirect.

Carlos Manzano, Executive Director of the Latino Media and Entertainment Commission (LMEC), recently left his position at the LMEC. “The LMEC has made significant contributions to the cultural and economic landscape of the city, and I’m most proud to have been part of this effort as your director.  The show must go, and I’ll help as time allows it because I believe there’s a wonderful LMEC/LMEW legacy that will be celebrated in years to come, Manzano tells Portada.

MundoFox, the new U.S. Spanish language broadcast network launching next month, has named long-time Hispanic television creative executive Adriana Ibañez as Executive Vice President, Programming. Ms. Ibanez, who will be based in Los Angeles, will join the network August 1. Making the announcement was network president Emiliano Saccone, to whom she will report. In her new role, Ms. Ibañez will work closely with Mr. Saccone, overseeing the network’s entire programming strategy and content acquisitions. MundoFox, which is slated to premiere on Monday, August 13, will be available in over 75% of U.S. Hispanic households at launch.

Antonia Canaleswas named President and General Manager of Telemundo’s KTMD O&O in Houston. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of Azteca América Houston.

Steve Malavé joined MundoFox as Senior Content Producer of News for MundoFox.

Goodwill Industries International announced that bilingual lifestyle expert Evette Rios has signed on as the organization’s first Latina spokesperson.

Elana Redd was promoted General Sales Manager of Delta Media in Texas.
