The Houston Chronicle Introduces LaVozTx.com

Hearst Corporation’s The Houston Chronicle  announced the launch of a new website, LaVozTx.com, which replaces LaVozdeHouston.com, the new site is aimed at providing relevant, engaging Spanish-language content to the city's growing Latino population. The Houston Chronicle announced a significant revamp of its Spanish-language digital and print properties earlier this year and  recently hired Alex Sanchez as the new publisher of its Spanish-language property La Voz.  ""Local digital advertising is expected to achieve annual double-digit growth through 2014, and LaVozTx.com will bring together an engaged Hispanic audience with advertisers seeking this highly desired demographic," Sanchez said  in a PR statement. (Read our recent interview with Sanchez on his plans for La Voz).

LaVozTx.com is a  locally focused online source for news, sports, entertainment, video stories and photo galleries relevant to Hispanic culture and lifestyle. The site also offers Spanish translations of pertinent stories produced by the Houston Chronicle."The launch of LaVozTx.com creates the ultimate online destination for local news and every issue of interest to Houston Latinos, who make up nearly 40 percent of our city's population," said La Voz editor Aurora Losada. Chron.com, the Chronicle's online site, averages nearly 83 million page views and 7.7 million unique visitors each month. The Chron.com site directs traffic to LaVozTx.com through a link on its top navigation bar.
Later this year La Voz will increase its weekly print circulation from 100,000 to 150,000.
