Sony Pictures Television (STP) has launched its multiplatform entertainment network Crackle in Brazil.

According to Sony, Crackle is the “first online network to offer ad-supported, free full-length movies and television series in the region.”

Following its recent launch in Brazil, Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is planning a wider Latin American push for its video-on-demand service Crackle.

SPT’s executive VP of digital networks Eric Berger, who oversees Crackle, said to C21, the firm will shortly roll out in 17 Spanish-speaking Latin American countries.

The company also announced that Kimberly Clark, Correios and Oi are among the first advertisers to sponsor the network in Brazil and that SPT's three linear channels in Latin America – SET, AXN and SPIN – would be supporting the launch with on-air ads.

Crackle has been launched already in the U.S., the U.K., Canada and Australia.

Also, Crackle has made agreements with SnagFilms to include the ad-supported streaming service in the US.
