Pereira & O'Dell announced that it has been retained by Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., in North America as its agency of record for laundry and home care brands including Purex, Renuzit and Soft Scrub.

Life & Annuity Masters, a California insurance marketing organization is recruiting hundreds of agents to sell life insurance and annuities to the growing Hispanic market. David Ellis, chief marketing officer at Life & Annuity Masters, said his company is hoping to recruit 1,000 people by June to become independent agents. He said the Hispanic market is "ready for the picking" and "under served." That's what a new program will try to tap. "I really can't even measure it right now," Ellis said. "This year alone I believe it could double the volume of business we do." Ellis said his company is partnering with Julie Stav, a personal financial adviser and host of the radio show Tu Dinero con Julie Stav, to train the agents and provide support with a program called Tu Seguro con Julie Stav.
- Obama Campaign Spanish-language site
President Barack Obama's reelection campaign launched a Spanish-language version of their website Thursday in an effort to attract highly sought after Latino voters. The site, BarackObama.com/es, features much of the same content as Obama's English website translated into Spanish, including information about social networks and the ability to give contributions to Obama's campaign.

The National Hispanic University (NHU) announced it will introduce its first entirely online degree programs starting April 30. New classes include NHU's M.A. in Education program and the B.A. in Child Development.
