America Movil, controlled by Mexican multi-billionaire Carlos Slim, said it purchased a 100 percent stake in Miami-based digital entertainment company DLA from Claxson Interactive Group.

"The acquisition is part of the agreement America Movil signed with multimedia company Claxson Interactive Group, Inc. in the fourth quarter of 2011," the Mexico City-based wireless giant said in a filing here Friday with stock market regulators.

Buenos-Aires-based Claxson Interactive distributes entertainment content to Spanish and Portuguese speakers worldwide over pay TV, broadcast TV, radio and the Internet, the statement said.

Miami-based DLA produces and distributes entertainment programs for diverse digital platforms – TV, Internet and cellular phones – in Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. Hispanic market.

As of Sept. 30, 2011, America Movil, Latin America's provider of wireless services, had 241.5 million cellular phone subscribers and 56.4 million fixed-revenue generating units in the Americas.
