Last Wednesday Crown Imports LLC introduced Mexico’s Victoria Beer to San Antonio consumers. Crown, a joint venture of Grupo Modelo S.A. de C.V. (MX: GMODELOC) and Constellation Brands Inc. (NYSE: STZ), will start marketing Victoria to retail accounts in San Antonio as part of its U.S. expansion. Crown began distributing Victoria Beer to the Chicago market earlier this year, making the Windy City the first U.S. market the carry the iconic brand.

Victoria will be marketed to both the Hispanic and general markets. The beer will be sold in 6-pack and 24-pack 12 ounce bottles.

Crown is launching a Spanish-language advertising and marketing campaign throughout Texas that will include billboard and radio advertising. The company plans to utilize social media to promote the brand as well.

  • The Texas Department of Transportation

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) launched a series of mini telenovelas this month in an effort to extend the message to the Hispanic community about the consequences of drinking and driving. The telenovelas aired as thirty second and two minute spots on Univision, Estrella, and Telefutura during the evening news for two weeks in late November. They aired in markets throughout Texas including Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, Rio Grande Valley, San Angelo, and San Antonio.

  • Campbell-Ewald

C-E (Campbell-Ewald) has created a series of new public service announcements on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ and Administration for Children and Families’, Office of Family Assistance, the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC) and the Advertising Council.

The new series of PSAs include TV, outdoor, online and mobile advertising. Certain outdoor ads feature a mobile element whereby texting “dad” to 30364 returns a text message with the campaign’s website address, providing fathers with information they need to become better dads. Spanish outdoor and web PSAs were also produced in collaboration with the Hispanic Communications Network.

  • Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless launches 4G LTE Wireless Network On Sunday, Dec. 5. From coast to coast, throughout 38 major metropolitan areas. With the 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network from Verizon Wireless, laptop users will experience speeds up to 10 times faster than when they surf on the company’s 3G network.

Recently Verizon announced Lopez Negrete as the full-service marketing and communications agency of record focused on the Hispanic market. The company also confirmed Global Hue as the Hispanic marketing agency for Verizon Wireless.
