Hispanic Newspaper Tidbits: Hola Noticias and La Guia Gratuita

Hola Noticias recently launched in the Charlotte, NC, market. Hola Noticias, until recently was only being published by Norsan Multimedia in Jacksonville, FL. Now the Spanish-language newspaper is also published in Charlotte. The Jacksonville and Charlotte’s editions have different local content.

Until recently Norsan Multimedia was publishing Spanish-language newspaper Mi Gente in Charlotte.  However Mi Gente, acquired by Norsan in September 2008, is no longer part of Norsan.

Norsan Multimedia also intends to publish local editions of Hola Noticias in other markets including Greensboro, NC and Winston Salem. NC. Norsan’s strategy is to publish newspapers in most markets where also owns radio stations. It wants to offer advertisers who want to reach local audiences a wide range of vehicles including radio, print, online and events.

New Hispanic Newspapers in Palm Beach

A group of journalists and executives from the closed Palm Beach, FL, Hispanic Newspaper La Palma (which used to be published by Cox Newspapers owned The Palm Beach Post) recently launched. La Guia Gratuita. La Guia Gratuita is a free weekly Spanish-language newspaper with a circulation of 15,000 targeting Palm Beach’s Hispanic population. Jose Alou is the publications Director of Sales and Operations.La Guia Gratuita will soon launch its companion website www.laguiagratuita.com.
