Best Practices: Kodak’s Hispanic Heritage Month on Yahoo! en Español

For Kodak's first venture into the Hispanic digital space, they chose to sponsor Hispanic Heritage Month on Yahoo!enEspanol (http://www.yahoo-herenciahispana.com/). Kodak and Y!EE worked very closely together to make sure the HHM program met all the needs of the client as well as the Y!EE audience.

In this program, users were asked to show their Hispanic pride by uploading pictures of their friends, family, special events in their life etc.  For every picture uploaded, Yahoo! & Kodak would donate $4.00 to the Hispanic College fund. The HHM site was also very engaging as it gave users the ability to comment, rate, and search for uploaded photos and even send e-cards with their pictures to friends and family. The HHM site also included, weekly blogs, facebook and twitter updates. At the end of the program, all the uploaded pictures were used to create a family tree mosaic that was revealed on the homepage of the site.

Overall, the program results were a huge success with nearly 2,000 photos uploaded. The HHM site is no longer live.
