El Especialito Launches Two New Editions in New York City

Amid the gloom in many larger newspaper chanes, some independent publishers are able to come up with good news.

Bergen, NJ based Ibarria Media Group just announced the launch of two new editions of its weekly El Especialito: El Especialito Lower East Side and El Especialito West Side. With the two new editions El Especialito now publishes 12 zoned editions in New York and New Jersey under the same name. In addition, Ibarria Media Group publishes the paid weeklies El Especial NY/NJ, El Especial Miami as well as the celebrity newspaper Personalidades.

El Especialito West Side and El Especialito Lower East Side have a circulation of 25,000 each and are distributed for free through newspapers well known yellow racks. Content includes community and neighbourhood news as well as international news. In addition, social news, service oriented news, entertainment and horoscope are also part of the weeklies content.

With the two new editions El Especialito has a weekly circulation of 280,000, reaching more than 1.4 million readers (according to a CAC audit).
