BBC and PBS Team-up for Special on Latin Music

The BBC and PBS in conjunction with WGBH Boston are collaborating on a four hour presentation on the history of Latin music in the US, entitled Musica Latina USA.

The program will trace the origins of Latin music in the US and will speak with a host of renowned Latin musicians including Shakira, Juanes and Carlos Santana.

Musica Latina USA kicks off during Hispanic heritage month, and will air in two episodes, the first on October 12th and the second on October 19th. There will also be related events, including VIP black tie event at the Smithsonian. Also going to be engaging Hispanic organizations with screenings throughout the country, including DC, LA, Miami

BBC has exclusive European distribution rights for the project. Various Fortune 1000 companies, including Coca Cola, have been looking into sponsorship opportunities, which are being handled by the Romero Group.
