Conference Calendar

First of all, look for exciting news on Thursday about Portada´s Panregional (Latin American) Advertising and Media Summit, Miami, June 4th, 2009.

During the next 2 weeks the following conferences of interest to Portada readers will take place:

  • Magic-Magia
    (February 17 - 19, 2009, Advanstar, Las Vegas, The Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton). In 2009 Magic, an apparel and fashion show that attracts tens of thousand of visitors every year, will have a Hispanic section. Several seminars and functions will take place, including a reception organized by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a “Buyers – Meet Sellers” Reception sponsored by Televisa Publishing and Digital. Several seminars about the Hispanic market will take place. One about the theme of “Is your Advertising Agency ready to market to Hispanics?” is scheduled for Wednesday morning, panelists include Greg Anthony, SVP Multicultural Sales, Alloy Access, and Jose Lopez Varela chairman of AHAA. The panel will be moderated by Marcos Baer, publisher of Portada.

  • Latino Media Conference 2009
    (February 19 - 21, 2009, University of Texas San Marcos, San Marcos – TX)
    The Center for the Study of Latino Media and Markets (CSLMM) in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Texas State University-San Marcos is preparing to host the second annual International Conference on Spanish-Language and Other Latino-oriented Media. ”Assessing the State of Spanish-Language & Other Latino Oriented Media” is the main topic of the Conference.

Approximately 60 speakers from throughout the world will converge for the conference, scheduled for Feb. 19 to 21 at the Texas State campus, to address university students and faculty as well as media professionals.
