Impremedia to Launch Geographically-based Mobile Alerts

Impremedia is launching mobile alerts by city in the next month. The service will allow users to opt-in to receive local news alerts in the following cities: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Houston and Orlando.

The alerts will be controlled by the editor of newspaper, and will cover traffic, weather, sports and other info.

The new move enhances Impremedia's current mobile alert system by adding a geographically driven component. "Whereas our current system allows users to opt-in based on areas of interest, this offering will take it a step further by offering locally relevant information," Impremedia Digital CEO Arturo Duran tells Portada.
