Music to their Ears: Verizon V-Lounge Latino

Verizon is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by---drum roll please---trying to sell mobile phones to Hispanics!

The wireless company is staging a tour called V-Lounge Latino throughout the Northeast with reggaeton artist Jancy. The events are being held at popular Latino clubs and blend concert performance with classic event marketing.

Those in attendance will not only have the chance to listen to the heavy beats brought forth by the Puerto Rican-born performer Jancy, but to peruse Verizon Wireless’ latest line of music capable cell phones operating on its V-cast streaming media platform. The events also feature giveaways for the Samsung Glyde Model.

“The project was originally going to be just for Hispanic Heritage month,” says Andrea Matus, a marketing executive from MarketingWerks, which handles various multi-cultural marketing initiatives for the wireless company.  “We’ve decided to extend the project into other major Northeastern Hispanic markets including Philladelphia, New York, New Jersey, DC. And Boston,” Matus tells Portada.
