As of April 29th, ESPN Deportes will be available to basic cable subscribers in Austin, Corpus Christi, suburban northwest Dallas, Midland, Odessa, San Antonio and San Marcos, Texas.
Both companies are framing the “long-term agreement” as a pillar of their commitment to serving Hispanic audiences. ESPN Deportes will be available to Grande Communications’ digital basic customers on Channel 130.
ESPN Deportes’ programming features more than 1600 live and/or original hours of sports programming annually. The network telecasts a variety of sports programming including Major League Baseball, exclusive winter baseball from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela; NBA, Monday Night Football, the most extensive Spanish-language coverage of the UEFA Champions League, and more.
ESPN Deportes also produces all of their news and information shows, such as SportsCenter, Futbol Picante, Beisbol Esta Noche, and acquires the rights to live programming events, such as Caribbean Series, South American World Cup Qualifiers, etc.
Grande Communications is a telecommunications agency offering cable, Internet and phone packages.
