The Associated Press announced last week the creation of the World Spanish Desk, which will consolidate AP’s Spanish-language resources to better serve readers, says Niko Price, AP’s Latin American editor.
The new World Spanish Desk will be the result of the merged Spanish Online Desk and the Print Translation Desk. It will be led by Ricardo Reiff in New York, who will be reporting to Deputy Latin America Editor Luis Alonso at AP's Latin America news hub in Mexico City.
While the AP will retain its Latin American team of reporters, it will also be expanding its Spain coverage with the creation of a Spanish-service position.
