Miami-based Mega TV has hired two former Telemundo executives, Mauricio Gerson and Magie Sala-Amaro. Gerson will serve as Senior VP of programming and development and Sala-Amaro will serve as director of affiliate relations.

Telemundo cable and digital media chief Antoinette Zel has left the company to “pursue other options in the industry.”

South Florida Sun-Sentinel editor Earl Maucker has been named the new president of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA).

James Hall will assume the role of CEO for Journal Register Co, publisher of several Spanish-language newspapers including Registro (Waterbury/Hartford, CT), Las Noticias (Kingston, NY), and La Voz(Reading Pennsylvania).

The Sacramento Bee’s top editor Rick Rodriguez has resigned his post over differences with the paper’s publisher.
