Both El Nuevo Herald and The Miami Herald have announced digital editions.

El Nuevo Herald has launched a digital edition of its paper, according to its parent company Miami Herald Media Co.

Subscribers to the digital edition will be able to read the paper in either standard online format, or in newspaper format, appearing just as the newspaper does. Raul Lopez, General Manager for interactive told Portada, “Since the digital version of the paper will be exactly like the print version, the print ads will appear online as well.”

Users will also have a host of tools at their disposal, and will be able to navigate the paper by topics of interest and headlines. Advertiser links will lead directly to their websites. In addition to editorial content, the digital editions feature comics, games and advertisements found in the hard copy version.

According to Miami Herald Media, the combined reach of El Nuevo Herald’s and The Miami Herald’s websites is 1.35 million users.
