Idearc Media Caters To Bronx With Bilingual Verizon Yellow Pages

Idearc Media Corp., home to Superpages.com(R) and publisher of the Verizon(R) Yellow Pages, recently completed distributing the Bronx Verizon Yellow Pages directory and two community books, the Riverdale-Kingsbridge and City Island CO-OP City Verizon Yellow Pages. The Bronx Verizon Yellow Pages is a bilingual "flipped" book with English on one side and Spanish on the other.

Also included with the new Bronx Verizon Yellow Pages is a map for a wallet or purse that folds down to the size of a credit card. The card includes mass transit maps covering all five boroughs, bus transfer information and a zoo guide 

For the first time, the Spanish side of the directory includes the Inside Look(TM) Community Magazine titled "Bronx Vive-Lo-Nuestro," a fact-filled guide highlighting Latino interests and Hispanic life in the Bronx. The magazine includes local information on the Bronx's: history, geography and government; theaters and museums; and events and festivals. Also included, is helpful information about social services, community services, immigration questions, and a "where do I go if I need..." guide that provides solutions for a variety of circumstances such as needing to pay taxes or obtaining a drivers license. 

In addition, Idearc Media added a bilingual heading guide in both English and Spanish and updated the translation of headings "Our bilingual directory gives consumers the convenience of easily finding local information in their choice of either Spanish or English," said John Wolfrum, general sales manager at Idearc Media, "and advertisers are able to reach a wider audience with such a robust directory." 

People who prefer to use the Internet can use Superpages.com (http://www.superpages.com), the expert in local search, to find local and national businesses and to compare goods and services when they are ready to buy. With more than 2.8 billion network searches in 2006, Superpages.com includes listings for more than 18 million small-to-medium-sized businesses in the United States, 11 million of which feature enhanced content. 

In 2006, more than 1.7 million searches were conducted on Superpages.com in the Bronx. The Bronx ranks as the seventh top searched city in New York.
