Starmedia Negotiating with Fox and Others to Make Content Available on its new Video Channel

Starmedia last week announced the launch of its new video sharing channel StarMedia Videos. The new channel allows users to watch and share original videos worldwide online; users are able to easily upload and share video clips on StarMedia Videos through websites, mobile phones and PDA’s. A Q&A with Alejandro Rodriguez, VP of Sales.

Portada:  Is the new video sharing channel going to be sponsored? If so what advertisers are particularly suitable for that?

AR: Yes, the video channel is ad supported. There will be pre-roll opportunities as well as display advertising and sponsorships. The video channel is suitable for many different advertisers but the most important categories are Telecommunications and Broadband.

P:Will the video channel be accessible over mobile phones?

AR:
In the future it wll be accessible via phones.

P:Do you also offer Broadband programming over Starmedia?

AR: We are negotiation with media companies such as Fox to make their content available in our video channel. This is the first imitative in this direction but there will be more agreements with other media companies to feature their content for Spanish speakers.
