Laura Alvarez is the new West Coast Sales Manager of Fox Sports en español, previously she has worked for Shape en español and Muevelo.

Ethnic Print Media Group, a multicultural print placement firm, has expanded its media relations team with the addition of Veronica Arreola. In her new role as vice president of media management, Arreola will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with EPMG's database of represented media and forming additional strategic media partnerships. Prior to joining EPMG, Arreola served as senior manager of multicultural rates and data at Alloy Marketing & Media Inc./American Multicultural Marketing. Arreola spent 10 years at AMM in various positions responsible for media purchasing, American minorities media management, and public relations and negotiations management.

Fleishman-Hillard International Communications today announced that Fernando Ferrer, former Bronx Borough President and Democratic Nominee for Mayor in New York City, has joined Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations as a Co-Chairman in New York.

Terre Rodríguez is the new Sales Manager of La Voz, a weekly Spanish-language newspaper published by the Arizona Republic.

Hector Prado, co-founder of Miami-based advertising agency The Lab, recently left The Lab to launch his own company. The new venture is called FireFly and is headquartered in Miami. Fire Fly is active in the branded entertainment sector.

Qwest Communications International Inc. announced today that Laura Sankey has been named executive vice president of marketing and communications. In her new role, Sankey will have responsibility for the company's marketing communications, product marketing, advertising and corporate communications.
In addition, she will oversee brand management, market research, sponsorships, database management and Hispanic marketing.

Tracy Rafter, who served as publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News for more than two years, was replaced by John C. McKeon, president and chief executive of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, which owns the Daily News and seven other daily newspapers in Southern California, including the Spanish-language weekly Impacto USA, that are operated by Denver-based MediaNews Group.
