Forbes to Launch Spanish-language Edition

New magazine will be based in Madrid and produce content for the Spanish-speaking world.

Forbes magazine is going to launch a Spanish-language edition. The new publication is going to be based in Madrid. Journalist Sonia Franco, until recently employed at Spanish financial daily El Economista, was recently hired by Forbes to lead Forbes' editorial team in Madrid.

The Madrid based newsroom will produce content about business and finance in Spain and Latin America and translate and adapt Forbes U.S. and European and Asian edition for Spanish –speaking audiences. The new publication will be distributed in Spain, Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.

Forbes is one of the largest business magazines in the U.S. During the January-September 2006 period it had advertising revenues of $219.9 million, an 8% increase versus the prior year according to PIB. Forbes advertising revenues were higher than Business Week's and Fortune's.
