El Universal, a newspaper and newswire based in Mexico City, has partnered with La Voz de Houston, the weekly Spanish-language newspaper (circ. 100,000) published by The Houston Chronicle/Hearst.
“The supplement, called Alemania 06, will be published on a weekly basis for seven weeks in a row starting this week”, Aurora Losada, editor of Spanish publications of The Houston Chronicle – La Voz de Houston and La Vibra, tells Portada®. The supplement will have 12-14 pages, El Universal will provide the content for the publication and its design. The supplement will carry the logos of both La Voz and El Universal, with La Voz handling advertising sales.
Losada adds that “editorial emphasis will be put on following the Mexican and U.S. soccer teams. As the competition evolves, and in the case Mexico and the U.S. are eliminated, we would increasingly cover other Latin American teams”.
