PODER and LOFT magazine brands have been acquired by content provider Page One Media. The titles, formerly owned by the now-defunct Zoom Media Group, were bought by Page One Media last week. The company did not say how much it paid for the magazines.
Page One Media, a Miami-based company, was founded in September of this year by several ex-employees of Zoom Media Group's editorial division. Isaac Lee is the company's Chairman and editor-in-chief, Jose Fernando Lopez is editorial director and Editor of PODER in Mexico, Cathleen Farrell is editorial director of Page One's Hispanic division and Editor of PODER US, and Adrian Saravia is Page One Media's creative director. The President of the company is Juan Miguel Mora and Felipe Holguin is a co-founder.
Page One Media now owns the trademark for both titles throughout the Americas (the U.S., Mexico, Central and South America). Page One will launch PODER in Chile in the first quarter of '06 and in Colombia before the year ends. PODER is currently published biweekly in Mexico in cooperation with Editorial Televisa.
PODER (U.S.) will resume publication in November with the special edition of the 100 most powerful Hispanics in the U.S. LOFT's publishing schedule will be determined in '06.
The PODER Business forum and the PODER-BCG business awards, will take place for the fourth time in Miami the 28th of April 2006.
