People en Español Editor Richard Pérez-Feria announced that landscape designer Eduardo Xol from ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will join the magazine as a celebrity Contributing Editor. In his new role, Xol will write a monthly column entitled, “CASA,” which will feature innovative home design solutions for People en Español's four million readers.

Scott Verchin was named National Advertising Sales Manager of Futbol Mundial (Sensacion Marketing Inc.).

Jeffrey Duque, was appointed as National Sales Director of Cuatro Media.

Gabriel Grimalt, co-founder and associate director of Tu Ciudad Los Angeles resigned his position in early October. He left for personal reasons and "to pursue other ventures”. Marcie Perez joined the magazine as director of public relations. Her prior position was associate vice-president and media specialist at Euro RSCG Magnet in Los Angeles.

Rick McCabe was promoted to director communications at Time Inc's Sports Illustrated from associate director-communications.

Sergio Mankita joined Zubi Advertising as account supervisor in the direct response team.

Matlock & Associates bought Hispanic ad agency Ventana Marketing this week. The multicultural agency will pull in the talents of Ventena's owner, Fabricio Lopez, as the new Managing Director of Matlock & Associates. Matlock was first formed in 1986 with a focus on the African American market and has since then grown to a key US multicultural agency.
