Carlos Valdivia is the new Director of Business Development at Papel Media. Previously, Valdivia worked as advertising sales manager at Enlace, the weekly Spanish-language publication of The San Diego Union Tribune. At Papel Media, Valdivia substitutes Miguel Santos.

Orlando Nieves has been named General Manager of Hispanic Initiatives for the Florida Communications Group, a division of Media General that oversees operations of The Tampa Tribune, WFLA News Channel 8, TBO.com and several other community newspapers in west central Florida.
In this newly created executive position, Nieves will lead and direct several new Spanish language print, broadcast and online media products currently in development at The News Center, which is known throughout the media industry for its multi-media approach to serving customers.

Publicitas LHM announced the appointment of Rafael Guerrero as their National Account Executive for the West Coast region, based in Los Angeles. Mr. Guerrero has an extensive marketing and advertising experience with companies such as Procter & Gamble, DBB, and McCann Erickson. He also enjoys valuable experience in retail marketing for the US Hispanic markets and Mexico.

Additonally, Publicitas LHM appointed Francisco Framil as Marketing Manager. Framil will be responsible for developing the research and marketing strategies addressing both publishers and advertiser's needs. Framil is a past president of the Sales & Marketing Executives of Puerto Rico and member of the Hispanic Marketing & Communications Association.

Mosaica, a multicultural communications agency under The Bravo Group umbrella, announced the appointment of Nilda Velez as General Manager, effective immediately. She will officially take the helm on July 11, 2005.Velez joins Mosaica from Bravo, where she most recently held the title of VP, Managing Director. In this role, she led a team of 11 and managed the Kraft Foods, Lifetime Television and Toys "R" Us accounts.

Mark Lopezwas named Publisherfor AOL Latino. Lopezwill be responsible for Sales and Sales Development of the US Hispanic service, web properties and the AOL service,reporting into Michael Barrett, Executive Vice President, AOL Media Networks. Most recently, Lopez was theDirector of Sales Development, Multicultural for AOL Media Networks.Prior to joining AOL, he was the Chief Strategy Officer at Terra Networks USA responsible for developing a growth strategy for the US Hispanic Web portal.Borja Perez and Manuel Miravete will continue to develop agency and client relationships reporting to Lopez.
