Críticas converts to electronic format

Beginning in September, Críticas, an English-language magazine which reviews Spanish language books for adults and children, will become a free monthly e-newsletter. Críticas (Reed Publishing) has been published as a paid bi-monthly print publication since its launch in 2001.
Print supplements published in June and October will give the new e-Críticas extra visibility at BookExpo America, the American Library Association (ALA) conference and FIL (Guadalajara Book Fair). “We believe we can carry more reviews in a more timely manner to more interested librarians and booksellers with an electronic format,” said William McGorry, executive VP at Reed Publishing Group. “We also recognize that many of our advertisers and readers are most comfortable with print, so we will continue to publish special supplements at least twice a year.” Adriana Lopez, who launched the magazine and has served as its editor since 2001, plans to leave Críticas.
