Mundo Hispánico-AJC to Test Pilot Ad-Sales Project

Mundo Hispánico (weekly, circ. 55,000, bilingual), acquired last year by the Atlanta Journal Constitution (Cox Enterprises, daily, avg. circ. 640,000), will launch the first coordinated ad-sales project in collaboration with the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC). At the end of March, AJC ad sales reps will begin to sell advertising in Mundo Hispánico pages in seven different Atlanta neighborhoods. The knowledge gleaned from this pilot project will help shape future ad-sales collaborations.

Earlier this year, AJC staff sold some ads in Mundo Hispánico's new automotive supplement Motores. The Atlanta Journal Constitution recently elected Alex Taylor vice president of business development. Lino Dominguez, Mundo Hispánico publisher, will report to Taylor. Portada estimates that the volume of Hispanic print advertising in the Atlanta DMA is approximately US $6 million.
