Spanish cell phones offer news from Home

Spain's Agencia Efe launched a new service to provide Latin American immigrants in Spain with news from their home countries. The news service is available through cell-phones, and has been set up for the two largest immigrant groups in Spain: Ecuadoreans (390,297) and Colombians (244,684). Alex Grijelmo, president of Efe, said that content for other Latin American nationalities will be available soon, as well as news for immigrants from Africa and other European countries. Grijelmo said he expects a net loss of 4.5 million euros in 2004.
