Three newspapers will buy a Latino Christmas supplement called Autentica Navidad. Content That Works, a provider of integrated online and special interest print content for local newspapers, and The Bilcom Group, a bilingual communications company, will partner to produce the supplements.

“Our sales effort just began in earnest. We are in discussions with several well known papers, but so far we have these three takers,” Paul A. Camp, president and CEO of Content That Works tells Portada®.

The three newspapers are News Journal (Longview, TX, Cox Newspapers, circ. 30,000, Sundays 40,000), The Sonoma Index Tribune (Sonoma, CA, Lynch Family, circ. 12,000, biweekly) and The Rockford Register Star (Rockford, IL, Gannett, circ. 71,697, Sundays 83,351).

Content That Works and The Bilcom Group are also planning to launch a quarterly supplement this fall that will help Latino families cope with the demands and challenges of daily life while preserving their cultural heritage. Publications who buy the supplements can sell advertising in the supplement pages and save the editorial costs they would incur if they had to develop the product themselves. Unlike other special sections that rely mostly on marketing staff for writing, The BilCom Group contracts seasoned journalists who have written and edited for some of the best-known publications in the Americas.
