This July, Que Onda! Magazine, in an effort to increase national advertising, will launch two new Texas editions in the cities of Laredo and McAllen. The free, bilingual newsprint magazine already publishes in Houston (weekly, circ. 100,000, CPM US $25), Dallas/Ft. Worth (biweekly, circ. 60,000, CPM US $41.70) and San Antonio (biweekly, circ. 60,000, CPM US $41.70). Gabriel Esparza, sole-owner and publisher of Que Onda! Publications in Texas, tells Portadatm that he is looking to franchise the title in other US states. He is in final negotiations with publishers in Los Angeles and Miami. Eighty percent of Que Onda!'s advertising sales come from national advertisers like Colgate, Bimbo and Budweiser. Que Onda! places a strong emphasis on music and lifestyle.
