Northwest literary winds

Galerna, a semiannual literary magazine whose title means “strong northwest wind,” was launched last July. The Spanish language publication is dedicated to promoting dialogue between Latin American, Spanish and American novelists, poets and critics with diverse aesthetic backgrounds. Galerna is the creation of Marta López-Luaces, Spanish professor at Montclair>State University, and Gerardo Piña, professor of Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies at City University of New York (CUNY). It is sponsored by Columbia University, New York's Instituto Cervantes, and Montclair State University. Galerna is available in U.S. libraries and bookstores.
