Houston-based López Negrete Communications won the Hispanic prize at the NAA Rainbow awards for its Bank of America newspaper campaign. López Negrete and all other Rainbow award entries were judged on images, copy headline and overall brand impact, explained Christine Wood, GOLD project director at the Newspaper Association of America (NAA). Judges considered how effectively images and language or jargon were used to connect with the Hispanic target market. The judges for the Rainbow Awards were: Javier Aldape, La Estrella (Ft. Worth); Frank Gihan, Chicago Tribune; Liza Gross, El Nuevo Dia (San Juan); Alex Lopez Negrete, Lopez Negrete Communications (Houston); Lisa Skriloff, Multicultural Marketing Resources (New York); Alexis Scott, Atlanta Daily World; Andrea Rothchild, Newsday and Hoy (New York); Ken Smikle, Target Market News (Chicago); and Viki Wong, Dae Advertising (San Francisco). Alex Lopez Negrete did not vote in the Hispanic category.
