Manny Miravete, VP US Hispanic Sales Strategy at Fox Interactive Media, where he spearheaded the MySpace Latino unit, is no longer with the company. An automatic e-mail reply  of an e-mail send to him by Portada said “Manny Miravete is no longer with the company”. Yesterday MySpace announced 400 layoffs which obviously also have impacted MySpace Latino. The social networking site laid off roughly 400 employees, or nearly 30 percent of its staff. After the layoffs, MySpace will have about 1,000 workers. The company said the layoffs were an attempt to return to a “start-up culture.”

Manny Miravete joined FOX Interactive Media in September of 2007 where, until yesterday, he was Vice President of US Hispanic Sales. In this role, he was responsible for the evangelization of MySpace’s Hispanic audience and the monetization of MySpace’s Spanish language product: MySpace en Español. He also managed and developed  MySpace’s relationships with Fortune 500 advertisers, US Hispanic agencies, interactive agencies and traditional agencies targeting US Hispanics.
